• (June 2017) With great sadness we have to report that our friend and colleague Alain Muzet passed away on June 8, 2017. Alain was president of ICBEN between  1993 and 1998. He was well known in the sleep research field, and a pioneer in research on the effects of noise on sleep. We will all miss him greatly.

(August 2015) The WHO is currently in the process of developing the WHO Environmental Noise Guidelines for the European Region as a significant update to the WHO Community Noise Guidelines from 1999. Several members of ICBEN are involved in systematically reviewing the evidence on the health effects of environmental noise or are active as temporary advisors in WHO's Guideline Development Group (GDG).
